Am Security Learnerships are learning programmes that lead to an occupational qualification. This includes classroom-based learning at the institute and on-the-job training,
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the Private Security Industry. We are passionate about building tomorrow’s future leaders.
The qualification will provide the learner with the required knowledge, practical skills and workplace-based experience to prepare the learner to operate as a Security Officer.
Am Security Requirements:
• Must not be employed.
• Must not be enrolled with any institution for a qualification nor be registered in any other Learnership Programme.
• Must have a Matric (Grade 12) with English and a minimum of Level 4 in ALL the subjects
• Must be a South African citizen and be in possession of a valid SA ID.
• Applicants must be between 18 and 3o years of age.
• Must not be Psira registered.
• No criminal Record
• Excellent Communication Skills.
• Computer Skills (MS Office, E-mail and Internet) will be an advantage
• The ability to work independently and show initiative.
• Reside close to Strand

LEARNERSHIP PROGRAM
Course Content
Qualifying learners are capable of using a series of legal and security skills to protect and serve their clients and communities in accordance. This will allow the learner to provide a more effective service that will improve both client and community satisfaction and position them to fulfill their mission of creating a safe and secure environment.
This will provide the qualifying learner with the competencies needed to undertake a range of security processes and practices as well as to align the learner with the possibility of elective competencies.
This has been designed for people working in the security environment at operational levels who endeavor to perform more than elementary security functions. Learners will be able to specialise in certain security aspects or have an option to move into supervisory avenues within this industry. This qualification will mean that in future those people involved in the security environment will have the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to operate professionally. It will also open up further career paths for people within the security industry and advance career opportunities. Their ability to develop and manage policies and procedures will be enhanced.

The Qualification consists of a Fundamental, a Core and an Elective Component.

Recognition of Prior Learning:
The structure of this qualification makes the recogni tion of prior learning possible through the assess ment of individual unit standards.
If the learner is able to demonstrate competence in the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes implicit in this qualification the appropriate credits should be assigned to the learner. Recognition of prior learning will be done by means of integrated assessment.
