AngolaAmerican mining Job Description:
As a Maintenance Operator Gr 1, you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include:
Adhere to housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and organised workspace.
Use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) according to safety regulations.
Perform all work following SHE safety, health, and environment standards.
Read, sign off, and adhere to all appropriate work instructions and standards.
Attend safety meetings as instructed to stay current on safety protocols.
Keep your allocated area clean and apply good housekeeping practices to ensure a hazard-free environment.
Take all necessary safety precautions when working on production equipment.
Active participation in SLAMs, HPHs, relevant Risk Assessments, and close-out of Safety Actions.
Maintenance of Dewatering Pumps
Continuously inspect equipment and report any identified defects promptly to prevent breakdowns, damage, injuries, and production delays.
Inform the supervisor of any defective pumps and the time required to complete the work.
Prepare the work area with the necessary pumps & pipes.
Complete the job within the specified time.
Identify and report components causing excessive downtime to the Supervisor Mining Dispatch / Mikom.
Maintain all pumps.
Assist the Dewatering team with:
monitoring the dewatering pumps.
installing or removing of pumps.
The Work: Key Outputs and Accountabilities
maintaining of the pumps,
refuelling of the pumps.
Install, remove and repair HDPE pipes.
Prepare and oversee the digging of pumps or trenches.
Assist with maintenance (Hook slings, cutting pipes, loosed & tighten bolts, connect pipes and pumps).
Assist the Dewatering team with effective maintenance of pumps and pipes to ensure optimal utilisation and availability.
Assist the Dewatering Coordinator according to own level/area of competence and follow company policies when instructed or during the responsible person’s absence to ensure the achievement of functional objectives.
Clean the equipment and work area after each maintenance job.
Perform cleaning activities beyond the allocated area.
Ensure all safety signs are installed and pumps are dewatered.
Clean the unused pumps.
Knowledge of the Sishen North and South Mine.
Knowledge of relevant procedures.
This role is in Mining (MIN) Department at a Band J5 reporting to the Infrastructure & Dewatering Coordinator
Qualifications:
Grade 12/N3 Technical
Basic rigging training
SA Drivers Licence
WA200 FEL License
Red Permit
Technical Knowledge
Experience in operating mining equipment (Komatsu WA 200 Front End Loader).
Basic hand tool working experience.
Familiarity with safety standards relevant to the job.
Knowledge of the Sishen North and South Mine.
Knowledge of relevant procedures.
